About Canada Public Holidays
The Canada Labour Code lists 10 general holidays for employees of federally regulated employers. These include banking, telecommunications and interprovincial transportation. Entitlement for employees required to work, and the paid day used when a holiday falls on a non-working day, follows federal labour-standard rules. Provincial and territorial employment standards can use different holiday lists.
Easter Monday appears on some government, public-service and employer calendars, but it is not one of the 10 Canada Labour Code general holidays and is therefore not included in this federal ICS file. Likewise, Family Day, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day and Civic Holiday depend on province, territory or employer and should be checked separately.
